Parenting Skills

Parenting may be one of the most challenging, yet rewarding, experiences. Children and teenagers do not come with a “how-to” guide, and yet, it is a parents’ job to understand, manage and direct their children. It is an integral part of a child’s therapeutic process that his/her parents learn effective parenting skills and ways to improve their relationship. Even the best parents could use some support.

Parenting skills training is offered to help parents develop new strategies in dealing with their children, especially those struggling with mental health issues (depression, anxiety, self-injury, impulsivity, for example). All parenting needs are different, so the skills training will be tailored to each parents’ specific needs
